Jaw growth is a slow and gradual process. This process takes place as we grow into adulthood. Sometimes the upper and lower jaws may grow at different rates, resulting in a mismatch between these jaws. Patients very likely experience difficulty chewing and speaking properly, develop jaw joint problems, have teeth which are not properly aligned, and are aware of the fact that their appearance is not altogether pleasing.
